An improvised explosive device detonated in Cairo's main train station on Thursday afternoon.
So far, it is known that eight people were injured, according to Sky News Arabia.
The IED went off in the carriage of a train stopped on Platform 2 at Ramses Station.
Ramses Station is the main station connecting the capital Cairo to towns across Egypt via long-distance rail lines.
In a separate incident on Thursday, an IED went off outside Helwan University some 20 kilometres north of Cairo.
Casualties remain unclear, but Sky News Arabia reports that six police officers were injured in the blast.
