Libya's previous parliament reconvenes, appoints Omar al-Hasi as PM
Two parliaments, neither of which recognise one another, are now operating in Libya, 1,600 km apart from one another

Libya's previous parliament reconvened on Monday in Tripoli to elect Islamist-backed Omar al-Hasi as prime minister, a parliamentary spokesman said.
The move comes as militias allied to the General National Council, Libya's previous parliament, have taken control of key locations in the capital Tripoli including Tripoli International Airport.
After seizing the airport, the militias called for the General National Council to be reinstated.
The GNC lost viciously in the country's elections in June which saw a new, anti-Islamist majority parliament, the House of Representatives, move to eastern city of Tobruk, where anti-Islamist militias are in control.
Now both parliaments are claiming legitimacy within the increasingly unstable country.
