Heavy snow has covered northwestern Syria, creating new problems for aid organisations already struggling to cope with the humanitarian impact of the country’s long-running civil war.

With tens of thousands of refugees arriving in rebel-held Idlib province following the evacuation of fighters and civilians from eastern Aleppo, Save the Children warned that many young children and babies were among those most at risk from freezing temperatures.

But some children could not resist the opportunity to play.
