Iraqis fleeing the ongoing battle on the outskirts of Mosul have resorted to digging holes in the desert as makeshift homes.

This comes as anti-IS forces are attempting to recapture the city.

Watch below as one refugee likens the holes to graves and asks, "Where is the United Nations?":
