Photo competition: Show us what hope looks like

How would you capture hope through just one picture during the coronavirus pandemic?

The Covid-19 pandemic has swept the world during the past six months. For many people, hope is the only thing that keeps them going. Sometimes a picture is all that's needed to share a positive message during trying times.

Discover, which is part of Middle East Eye, is launching a photo competition to explore what hope means to you and how you would frame it.

How to enter

To enter the competition you will need to be living in the Middle East and North Africa region. Any photos you submit need to have been taken in the region.

Before entering you must read the full Terms and Conditions below carefully. Key points to note:

  • You can use any device to take the photo. Advanced filters and digital enhancements that take away from the originality of the photo are discouraged.
  • If your picture is selected as part of the top 10 entries it will be featured on MEE’s website and social media platforms. You can also let our audience know a little about yourself and the details behind your picture.
  • The top three photos placed first, second and third will win cash prizes of $600, $400, and $200 respectively. In addition, the photographer behind the top photo will be the subject of a Discover profile.
  • All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm GMT on 10 August 2020
