Ahead of the ground-breaking nuclear agreement between Iran and the world’s top powers, Iranian singer Amir Tataloo released his song called "Energy Hastei”, or “Nuclear Energy”.

The video’s passive aggressive tone is encapsulated by the message that appears before the song starts: “No power can prevent the Iranian nation from having peaceful nuclear energy."

Tataloo, known for his fusion of rap, hip hop and R&B, is filmed singing in front of a solemn-looking Iranian unit. As he stands aboard the Iranian navy warship Damavand, Tataloo sings the provocative chorus amidst themes linked to nationalism, Iran’s nuclear programme and the right to defend itself. “Having an armed Persian Gulf is our absolute right,” he chants.
