Amazon data centre 'hit by objects' as UAE pounded by Iran strikes
2 March 2026 03:36 GMT
Amazon Web Services said power was temporarily shut down at one of its data centres in the United Arab Emirates after objects struck the facility, causing sparks and a fire.
The company said the incident affected one Availability Zone and that emergency crews cut power while the blaze was brought under control.
The disruption came as the UAE reported damage from Iranian missile and drone strikes following US and Israeli attacks on Iran, which have hit airports, ports and residential areas across the Gulf.
