EU condemns Hamas but not Israel in statement on ceasefire
The European Union's diplomatic service has condemned "the refusal of Hamas to accept the extension of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza".
In a statement on Sunday, the service did not condemn Israel's decision to block aid from entering Gaza, but said that "Israel's subsequent decision to block the entry of all humanitarian aid into Gaza could potentially result in humanitarian consequences."
Meanwhile other countries have criticised Israel's move, with Qatar's foreign ministry denouncing it as a "clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and all religious principles."
Jordan's foreign ministry likewise "condemned in the strongest terms" the decision and said it represents a "blatant breach of the ceasefire agreement".
