Gaza enters most severe stage of malnutrition, warns hospital chief

The medical director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Khalil al-Daqran, has warned that Gaza has entered the fifth stage of malnutrition — the most critical level defined by the World Health Organization — as a result of Israel’s ongoing blockade, reported Wafa.
-
Speaking to Voice of Palestine, al-Daqran said: “Gaza’s children are going through the most dangerous stages of malnutrition due to a complete absence of food and infant formula, and their lives are in real danger.”
-
He also highlighted the plight of around 200,000 Palestinians suffering from chronic illnesses, warning that many could die as essential medications have run out.

The Israeli blockade, now in its seventh week, has brought Gaza’s healthcare system to collapse and left civilians grappling with starvation.
