Gaza death toll rises to 48,543

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza said Israeli attacks over the past 48 hours killed 19 people, including seven newly killed and 12 bodies recovered. It also reported that 26 wounded individuals arrived at hospitals.

This brings the confirmed death toll from Israeli attacks since 7 October to at least 48,543, with 111,981 others wounded, the ministry statement said.

Many victims remain under the rubble, while Gaza's government media office has placed the death toll at more than 61,000, saying thousands of missing people are now presumed dead.
