Hamas fires rockets at Israeli cities in retaliation for Gaza attacks

Hamas fired a barrage of rockets at southern Israel on Sunday, calling the action a direct response to Israeli "massacres" of civilians in Gaza.

Israel’s military confirmed that around ten projectiles were launched, but most were intercepted. However, Israeli Channel 12 reported that one rocket struck the southern city of Ashkelon, causing significant damage.

Israeli emergency services reported treating one person for shrapnel injuries and noted scattered debris and smashed car windows across city streets. Videos released by emergency teams showed the aftermath of the attack.
