Houthis call for mass protests following US attacks

Houthi leader Abdulmailk al-Houthi called for mass protests following US strikes in Yemen killed at least 53 people, including women and children, on Saturday.

Al-Houthi called for a "million-strong march" across the country to coincide with the anniversary of the Battle of Badr - a major military victory led by the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century.

On Sunday, the group claimed attacks on a US aircraft carrier and its warships, state TV Al-Misrah reported.
