Israeli army demolishes two Palestinian houses near occupied East Jerusalem

On Monday, the Israeli army demolished two homes in the village of Al-Walaja, located south of occupied East Jerusalem, claiming the buildings were constructed without permits. Dozens of other homes in the village are also at risk of demolition.

Al-Jazeera Arabic reported that Anwar Abu al-Teen, a member of the Al-Walaja village council, said that a military force raided the area and began demolishing the homes. He added that the two houses, each around 350 square meters, were inhabited.

Abu al-Teen noted that several other homes in the village were demolished about two weeks ago and warned that approximately 70 homes in Al-Walaja face similar threats due to the "no permit" allegations.
