Israeli strike on south Lebanon kills one

An Israeli strike on a vehicle in southern Lebanon killed one person on Saturday, according to the Lebanese health ministry, as reported by state media.

"A strike by the Israeli enemy on a car in the town of Burj al-Muluk (near the Israeli border) led to the death of one citizen," the ministry's emergency unit was quoted as saying by the National News Agency (NNA).

The Israeli military stated that the strike targeted a Hezbollah operative.

Although a November 27 truce largely paused over a year of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel - including two months of full-scale war - Israel has continued to launch periodic strikes on Lebanese territory since the agreement took effect.
