Morning update: Hamas delegation leaves Cairo to discuss 'ceasefire efforts' in Gaza

Good morning Middle East Eye readers, as Syrians celebrate the fall of the Assad regime, Israel's war on Gaza shows no sign of abetting, here are some updates from what happened overnight:

  • The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the occupation army struck the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, wounded six patients, including one in serious condition

  • Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for hitting an Israeli Merkava tank with a "Yassin 105" shell in the Al-Daq'a neighbourhood near Al-Fakhoura in Jabalia camp, northern Gaza

  • A Hamas delegation led by Khalil Al-Hayya departed Cairo after discussions with Egyptian General Intelligence Chief Major General Hassan Rashad about efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza

  • Israeli special forces abducted a young man from the Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank on Monday morning

  • Military operations intensified in the northern Gaza Strip, including shelling by Israeli tanks targeting Kamal Adwan Hospital.  The Israeli army destroyed water, oxygen, and fuel tanks at Kamal Adwan Hospital, causing a fire and a complete power outage.

  • Nearby, Israeli forces set fire to residential homes around the Development Association in Beit Lahia
