Mossad opposed Israel's strike in Doha, Washington Post reports

The Mossad had planned a ground operation to assassinate Hamas leaders in Doha but declined to execute it, The Washington Post reported, citing two Israeli sources familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The report said the Mossad director, David Barnea, opposed killing the Hamas officials in Qatar partly because such an action could rupture the relationship he and his agency had cultivated with Qatar.

Instead of deploying Mossad operatives, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dispatched 15 fighter jets that failed to kill senior Hamas officials, the sources said.
