Netanyahu corruption trial to resume on Sunday

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s long-running corruption trial will resume on Sunday, according to a statement released by the Israeli court hours after Israel lifted the state of emergency imposed as a result of its war on Iran.
“With the lifting of the state of emergency and the return of the judicial system to work, hearings will resume as usual,” a spokesperson for the court said.
Netanyahu’s trial began in 2020 and has repeatedly been delayed due to his official commitments.
He is the first sitting Israeli prime minister to be charged with a crime, and denies the charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, which could lead to a jail sentence.
