A Qatari delegation visited Iran on Friday in an effort to consolidate its role as a mediator following renewed hostilities between the US and Iran, according to Iran's Tasnim news agency.
Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Reuters reported that Qatari negotiators were meeting Iranian officials to de-escalate tensions and create conditions for broader negotiations in coordination with the US.
