UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he has "grave concerns" over Iran's nuclear programme and believes Israel has the right to self-defence, Reuters reported on Friday.
Starmer's spokesperson said in a statement, "The prime minister was clear that Israel has a right to self-defence and set out the UK's grave concerns about Iran’s nuclear programme.
"He reiterated (to Netanyahu) the need for de-escalation and a diplomatic resolution, in the interests of stability in the region."
Israel decided to launch large-scale attacks on Iran in the early hours of Friday without warning.
