Trump posts picture showing Hormuz Strait as a US territory

Donald Trump has posted a picture on his Truth Social platform suggesting that the Strait of Hormuz is a US territory.

No further caption or context was provided in the post.

The US president has repeatedly laid claim to the strategic waterway. On Thursday, Trump told reporters that the US is "in control" of the Strait of Hormuz and continues its blockade of Iranian ports.

Trump also made similar posts last week suggesting that the strait was apart of US territory.
