Syrians were celebrating the downfall of the Assad dynasty on Sunday, but bombs continue to hit Gaza. At least 25 Palestinians have been killed and dozens injured on Sunday evening due to Israeli bombing that targeted Gaza City and al-Bureij camp in central Gaza. Later in the day, Reuters reported that ten Palestinians were killed in additional strikes.
As Assad’s ouster was confirmed, the Palestinian Authority said that the State of Palestine and its people stand by the Syrian people, respecting their will and political choices, in a way that guarantees their security and stability and preserves their achievements.

At least 10 Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes in northern and southern Gaza on Sunday, Reuters reported citing Palestinian health officials.
Israeli strikes hit Deir Al Balah in the central part of Gaza also, Reuters reported.
Israel has continued to pound the enclave as the world's attention turns to Syria.
The director of northern Gaza's Kamal Adwan hospital said on Sunday the lives of more than 100 patients were in danger after electricity, oxygen and water supplies were cut by Israeli attacks.
Hossam Abu Safiyeh said recent Israeli shelling and bombing had severely damaged the hospital and cut the water and electricity supply to parts of it.
"The outage of electricity and water persists, and we urgently appeal to the international community for assistance," Safiyeh said according to the AFP.
A Palestinian youth was killed on Sunday by an Israeli drone strike in the town of Beit Lahiya, located in the northern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The victim was identified as Khalil Ibrahim Qahman, according to Wafa.
Sunday was a bloody day for Gaza, with scores killed by Israeli strikes. Warplanes also launched strikes near Al-Kamal Adwan Hospital.
Israeli military confirmed carrying out an air strike in the southern Lebanon village of Dibbine, close to Marjayoun, earlier today, saying it targeted a group of Hezbollah at a weapons depot.
Hamas had told Palestinian groups in Gaza to compile information on the captives they hold in preparation for a ceasefire and hostage-release deal with Israel, sources told AFP.
Hamas reportedly told factions including Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front and the Popular Resistance Committees to prepare information such as whether their hostages were alive or dead.
A total of 96 captives remain in Gaza, including 34 the Israeli military has confirmed are dead.
The Palestinian Authority said that the State of Palestine and its people stand by the Syrian people, respecting their will and political choices, in a way that guarantees their security and stability and preserves their achievements, the Wafa news agency reported.
"We reaffirm the need to respect the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, and to preserve its security and stability, wishing continued progress and prosperity for the brotherly Syrian people," PA said in a statement.
The statement emphasized the importance of all political parties prioritizing the interests of the Syrian people.
It also said that doing so would restore Syria's key role in the region and the world, which would also support the Palestinian people's cause for freedom and independence.
Benjamin Netanyahu has said the fall of Assad's government in Syria may advance a deal for the return of Israeli captives in Gaza, according to the Israeli prime minister's office.
Netanyahu met separately with two groups representing families of the captives in Jerusalem.
He reportedly told them that Assad's toppling "could help advance a deal to bring back the hostages" - although it is unclear why he argued that.

An Israeli attack near Gaza City's municipal park killed 10 Palestinians, Wafa news agency reported.
Eleven people were killed in another bombing that targeted a house behind al-Bureij camp's cemetery in the central Gaza Strip.
And earlier on Sunday, five people were killed in an Israeli attack north of Rafah in southern Gaza.

According to Wafa news agency, the five killed on Sunday were civilians.
Overall, Israeli forces have killed more than 44,500 people and wounded 105,739 since the war on Gaza began on 7 October last year.
Israel has shelled the Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza.
Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital's director, said the building was hit by around 100 tank shells and bombs.
He added that while no one was killed, several medical staff and patients were wounded. The hospital, one of three operational in northern Gaza, is treating 112 wounded people.
The bombing damaged electricity and oxygen pumps and disrupted urgent surgeries, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
An Israeli drone strike has killed a Palestinian man in the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
Local media has reported that the man, named Khalil Ibrahim Qahman, was young, and died from injuries he received during the attack.
Israeli planes also launched air strikes near al-Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza.
The Israeli military has detained at least 10 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since yesterday evening amid an ongoing crackdown.
According to the Palestinian Authority's Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, raids were carried out in Ramallah, Hebron and Tulkarm and were accompanied by widespread damage to homes.
Among those who have been detained are several former prisoners, local media reported.
The Israeli military is taking steps to ensure that Syrian army weaponry does not fall into the hands of rebels, Israeli media is reporting.
The Israeli army is reportedly preparing for a scenario where reserve forces may be required, and has already deployed extra forces to the occupied Golan Heights.
