Israel attacks Khan Younis by air and sea in latest Gaza ceasefire violations
Israeli warplanes on Friday carried out intense air strikes east of the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian media reported.
Wafa news agency said artillery shelling and demolitions continued across eastern areas of Gaza.
At least four air strikes targeted areas across Khan Younis, alongside heavy gunfire from helicopters and Israeli military vehicles positioned around the city.
The report said Israeli forces also carried out large-scale demolition operations, destroying homes as warplanes launched an air strike in the area.
In Rafah, Israeli helicopters fired on residential neighbourhoods, as Israeli naval ships continuously targeted the coast of Khan Younis.

Israel has repeatedly violated a ceasefire agreement to end fighting in Gaza that came into effect in early October, without any repercussions.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said that, as of Tuesday, Israel had killed 406 Palestinians since the ceasefire came into force.
Since the start of Israel's assault on 7 October 2023, at least 70,942 Palestinians have been killed and 171,195 others have been wounded.
The actual death toll is believed to be significantly higher, with thousands of Palestinians missing and believed to be buried under rubble.
Palestinian officials have also struggled to keep records of all of those killed, as their offices and staff have regularly been targeted.
In November, Germany's Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research said at least 100,000 Palestinians were likely killed in Israel’s war on Gaza.
