Israeli settlers on Monday launched attacks on the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus, killing two brothers and wounding several others.

The Palestinian health ministry announced the death of 52-year-old Mohammad Taha Muammar, who was shot in the head, and his brother Fahim, 48, who was shot in the pelvis.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society treated several on the scene in varying wound conditions, including a 15-year-old boy.

Settlers fired live ammunition at residents and set fire to Palestinian properties, according to local news media reports.

Israeli forces reportedly did not stop the settlers from shooting at crowds. Instead, they fired tear gas at village residents following the assault, including on those wounded.

One video shows crowds attempting to rescue victims of the settler gunfire.

Another shows the settlers atop a hill with weapons, seeming to be taking aim at Palestinians in the village.

This is not the first time the village has witnessed violence from settlers and Israeli forces, with previous instances including the uprooting of trees, stormings, arson attacks and killings.

Settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem has been ongoing for years, often carried out with complete impunity and under the protection of Israeli forces.

Since the start of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, the attacks have escalated, with official data issued by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission noting that around 4,723 cases of settler violence were recorded during 2025.

More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli troops and settlers in the past two years, including 217 minors.
