Read the full United Nations report on the killing of Jamal Khashoggi
Agnes Callamard, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial Killings, Summary or Arbitrary Executions, on Wednesday published the results of her investigation into the killing of exiled Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, on 2 October 2018.
The report, prepared for the UN's Human Rights Council, concluded that Khashoggi's death "constituted an extrajudicial killing for which the State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is responsible".

The report also said there is "credible evidence" warranting further investigation of senior Saudi officials' individual liability, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
It said that investigations into the death by both Turkey and Saudi Arabia had "failed to meet international standards regarding the investigation into unlawful deaths", and called for the suspension of the trial of 11 suspects charged over the killing in Saudi Arabia.
And it reveals new details about the operation to kill Khashoggi and the final moments of his life.
