'Soul of my soul': Iconic Palestinian grandfather killed by Israel in Gaza

A Palestinian man whose touching tribute to his dead granddaughter went viral on social media last year has now also been killed by the Israeli military.
According to Palestinian journalists and social media activists, Khaled Nabhan was killed during Israel's bombardment of the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.
Nabhan became well known after his granddaughter was killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza in November 2023, with footage of him mourning the three-year-old girl spreading across social media.
The grandfather described the child, called Reem, as the "soul of my soul" as he held her lifeless body, garnering international attention during the early stages of the war.
After the death of Reem and being displaced by the Israeli military, Nabhan again went viral as he was filmed helping feed other Palestinians in Gaza.
