Two dead in shooting at Allenby Bridge on Jordan-West Bank border
Two men have been killed in a shooting at the border crossing between the occupied West Bank and neighbouring Jordan, according to Israel.
Israeli medics and the military said the men, both Israelis about 20 and 60 years of age, were taken to hospital after a shooting at the Allenby Bridge over the River Jordan before being declared dead.
The Israeli military said it was looking into the details of the shooting, while some media outlets reported the shooter had been killed.
"We continued the medical care, including resuscitation efforts, at the end of which we sadly had to pronounce them deceased," the Magen David Adom emergency service quoted one of its medics as saying.
"The terrorist was neutralised by security forces."

The Israeli military said the attacker had arrived from Jordan in a truck transporting humanitarian aid from Jordan, and "opened fire."
Jordanian government spokesman Mohamad Momani said the authorities in the kingdom were looking into the reports and would "announce later any details we get on that".
A spokesperson from the kingdom's security department added that "the Israelis closed the other side while the bridge is still open from the Jordanian side".
The Allenby Bridge crossing is the only access to the occupied West Bank that does not require travelling through Israel, though the latter still controls the crossing.
A previous shooting at the crossing took place in September 2024 when a Jordanian man shot and killed three Israelis near the bridge.
