Israel ICJ case

Israel's war on Gaza

'Oops we did it again': Israel’s deadly ‘mistakes’ against Palestinians are mounting

Israel has repeatedly claimed that some of its attacks on people in Gaza were ‘mistakes’, but this recurring pattern has cost the lives of hundreds of Palestinians and foreign aid workers in Gaza. On the 26 May, Israeli air strikes killed over 40 Palestinians in their displaced tents in Rafah, an area designated a safe zone. What was Israel's response after the global outcry to the massacre and graphic scenes? Netanyahu said it was a “tragic mishap” or “mistake”. Israel initially claimed it was targeting 2 Hamas officials, but produced no evidence to back up these claims. Two days later, Israel targeted a nearby area in Rafah again and killed over 22 displaced Palestinians in their tents. Israel repeatedly claims it does not target civilians and boasts of being one of the most technologically advanced military powers in the world. Many people have not only questioned the Israeli military’s competence and rules of engagement, but they’re also questioning Israel’s intent in its war on Gaza. Israel is now facing genocide charges as i's accusers say that its intention to harm and kill civilians is "deliberate".
