Hamas says Iran's strike on Israel was a 'natural and deserved response'

Hamas released a statement on Iran's retaliatory strikes against Israel, saying that the attack was "a natural and deserved response to the aggression against the embassy in Damascus".

Iran launched the attack in response to an air strike on 1 April that targeted Iran's consulate building in Damascus, killing three top Iranian generals. Israel did not claim responsibility for the air strike. However, four Israeli officials told The New York Times that Israel was behind the attack.
