Two-thirds of US voters support Gaza ceasefire: Poll

A new poll released on Tuesday found that 67 percent of US voters support a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, which the Biden administration has continuously rejected in favour of temporary pauses in fighting.

The poll, conducted by Data for Progress, found that the number was even higher among Democratic voters, with 77 percent of them supporting a permanent ceasefire.

"Around two-thirds of voters (67 percent) - including majorities of Democrats (77 percent), Independents (69 percent), and Republicans (56 percent) - support the US calling for a permanent ceasefire and a de-escalation of violence in Gaza," the group said.
