Iranian police announce arrest of three Islamic State members near Tehran
Iranian police have announced the arrest of three suspected members of the Islamic State group near the capital Tehran, as well as eight "accomplices", according to official media.
"Police in the province of Alborz arrested three members of the Islamic State who were planning to carry out a suicide attack during the celebration of the end of Ramadan," reported the IRNA agency.
The agency did not mention the date of the arrests or the nationality of those arrested.
However, they described one of them as Mohammad Zaker, "an important member of this terrorist group".
Overnight on Wednesday evening, 10 members of the Iranian security forces and 18 attackers were reported killed in two attacks carried out by an armed group in southeastern Iran, with the number of security officials killed rising to 15 on Saturday.

Jaish al-Adl, a Baloch separatist group based in Pakistan, claimed responsibility for these attacks via its pages on Telegram.
Two explosions in the city of Kerman on 3 January, which were claimed by IS, killed more than 103 people and wounded 188 others.
The attack took place during a ceremony commemorating the assassination of former Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani.
