VIDEO: Women in Iran defy fatwa by riding bikes in public

Iranian women have been posting videos of themselves cycling, defying a fatwa that claims riding a bike threatens a woman's chastity

Iranian women have been posting photos and videos of themselves cycling, defying a state-issued fatwa that claims riding a bike threatens a woman's chastity.

In this video, a mother and daughter cycling together in protest send a direct message to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, saying: "Bicycle riding is part of our lives... It's our absolute right and we're not going to give up."

Earlier this month, Khamenei issued a fatwa prohibiting women from riding a bike in public places.
