More than 2,000 people are feared dead in eastern Libya after Storm Daniel swept through the country, causing devastating floods and massive mudslides with entire neighbourhoods submerged under water.
Speaking on the Libyan network Almasar, Oussama Hamad, prime minister of Libya’s eastern-based government said more than 2,000 people are dead and thousands others missing in the city of Derna alone, which was the worst hit city and has become inaccessible. No medical sources or emergency services have yet confirmed these figures.
