Israeli strikes hit Rafah and shelters housing disabled people
At last 20 Palestinians were killed by “intense” Israeli air strikes on the southern city of Rafah in the last few hours, according to Arabic media.
Rafah’s population has swelled, with 530,000 internally displaced people seeking safety in the besieged enclave's southernmost city amid Israel’s ferocious bombardment.
Israel conducted strikes across Gaza on Wednesday. Aircraft bombed a health centre affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian news agency, Wafa.
Meanwhile six people were killed and dozens injured in a strike on a school housing displaced people in the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood of Gaza City. Israeli strikes also hit a building housing displaced people near the Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza, according to Wafa.
