Lovie Awards: MEE finalist in two categories
Middle East Eye has been nominated in two categories for the 12th Lovie Awards.
Described as "the most prestigious, and the only, truly pan-European awards", Lovie aims to recognise the "unique and resonant nature" of the European internet community.
Decided by public vote that runs over two weeks, the awards cover numerous categories in video, website, social, and podcast among others.
MEE is nominated in the Viral Video category for the interview with 10-year-old Nadine Abdel-Taif from Gaza in May 2021, whose neighbour's house was destroyed in an Israeli air strike that killed eight children and two women.
Abdel-Taif's reaction garnered global attention and was covered by other news outlets in the wake of Israel's attacks on the besieged enclave.
MEE is also nominated for its YouTube channel, which has seen more than 200 percent growth since last year, in the Video Series or Channel in the News & Politics category.
The voting for this year's Lovie Awards ends on 6 October 2022.
