Video: HRW critical of Israel's Gaza evacuation warnings

The Israeli military has pursued a strategy of warning civilians to leave areas it plans to bomb ahead of time

Israel on Wednesday delivered leaflets to over 100,000 Palestinians in north Gaza warning them to leave their homes prior to a wave of airstrikes.

While some have pointed to this as a sign of the Israeli military's commitment to minimising civilian deaths, others have pointed out the difficulty of moving people around an area smaller than London with scarce resources and confusion over the nature and timing of attacks.

Middle East Eye spoke to Bill Van Esveld, Israel/Palestine researcher for Human Rights Watch, to discuss the evacuees fleeing their homes prior to Israeli military strikes, the tactics used by Israel, the human rights implications, and what resources are available to the displaced.
